How to kill the e300 engine while driving
I recently had the engine suddenly quit while driving my 2011 s550 and would like to have my wife experience the even in her 2017 e300, so she would know what to expect.
How do I kill the engine, say driving at about 30 mph? Is there any risk of damage to engine in doing this?

Not quite sure why you would want do to this. What if you hit the start/stop button to cut the engine while driving it? Not the eco button but the button used to start the car. Not sure what the damage would be but I would assume there could be engine damage.

Its actually quite simple. Press and hold the start button. After a few seconds the engine will turn off. Be careful, doing so will deactivate the power steering and the power brake will only last a few cycles after which you will have to brakes only with leg power. Unless you are on a long straight road without traffic. Do it only at a low speed of 25 mph or less given that steering and braking will become very heavy. Also be ready for a cacophony of warning bells and lights.
