I have the Burmester Premium sound package so it came as it stands minus the upgraded rotating tweeters. It had black plain tweeters where the new one is now. It sounds great.

How long did it take to arrive after ordering?

Can you send me the link to the seller's site?
I think they have 2 models from other threads. One with only 3 colors, and the better one with more colors. Do you get the better one?

Thanks!

The sellers link is the 1st post on page 1...the tweeter selection is based on what model your putting them into...i.e. 2017 E-Class with 64 color ambient light selection...I'm about to buy a pair myself.

I never tried. Call and let us know if they will sell just the Burmester rotating tweeters. I assume its plug and play just like these.

my dealer said there not compatible and Mercedes makes it extremely hard to retrofit anything

I think they look really cool and have contacted the Seller several times over the last few days without a response. I guess they are still celebrating the Chinese New Year. ;)

The seller have just replied to me. I have ordered the 2018 tweeters. I hope that those would work with the multi-color feature. I'll let you guys know once I install them.

Did you watch the video above?

I did, but I was hoping that CarPhone made a modification after watching your video. If they did made some new tweeters that worked with the multi-color, I'll post here so that you can get yours replaced. :y

Having watched NFAREVIEW's video above, I don't understand why anyone would order these in a 2018 car without the seller's confirmation that it will work properly with multi colour and clarification as to why the above did not work properly.

Otherwise it's potentially 500 bucks to buy and install these, the installation costs of which one will never recoup, and I for one couldn't live with that limitation.

I thought about this but I'm really impatient and this Chinese New Year didn't help at all :o:

Won’t adding a Chinese Burmester tweeter affect sound quality? Throw the whole system off?

Sort of agree, but firstly the feedback is that it improves the sound and secondly, the OEMs are probably made in China anyway :p.

I don't believe they improve the sound unless you have the base sound system.

However I believe these may have the non 3D burmester tweeter in them

There’s a seller on eBay that’s selling the official Mercedes part! From Germany, https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F122979629793

I think that only the covers are original, but the rotating tweeters are “same as original" as you can see in the item description here:

so you think these are no more authentic then the Chinese ones?

I didn't think that way. In your post, you thought that those were originals and when I visited the page, I noticed what was written in the item description so I posted just in case if people who would only buy the original part didn't notice. To be honest, it looks more authentic than the Chinese tweeters sold here. :)

This seller in Berlin ONLY sells dozens of Genuine MB Parts(look at all his other items for sale and his feedback), so I'm quite sure, and you should be also, that it is 100% the Real thing. IMO

The drivers side didn't work fully at first (rotating) but then it started working. They look and sound good but I DO NOT like the transition of colors in the Multi-Color Ambient Light option that the 2018's have. Instead of a nice gradual switch in colors when the switch happens from top panels to lower panels and back, it just pops to the next color, its distracting...it kills the mood...BAD.

For those unfamiliar with the 2018's I'll try to give an example. Red Moon is my wife's favorite setting. It divides the LED's into red and blue areas of the car and dash and it slowly switches the colors and when it does whatever that color makes when mixed is what everything turns to until they switch. So red and blue make purple right? Well now instead of a smooth flow of red to blue to purple and back again you have the tweeter in your field of view just hard switching to the next color like a freaking flashing Christmas tree light! So now she has to resort to just going back to the 2017 option of a single cabin color. Does anyone else have a 2018 with this? Does it switch smooth or hard cut to the next color? Or did they send me the wrong non 2018 unit?

How much does it cost for your audio shop to install this pair of speakers?

Not quite. I did some messaging with the Berlin seller as well. This is what he told me:

this item is not original, but is made with original burmester tweeter, also is available for w213 with complete installation wires and 2 door computers for plug and play, total price for entire installation set + genuine original burmester aluminum grill covers - 850usd + 45usd transport costs.

I'm surprised, I stand corrected. Thanks! BOB
