Engine Coolant Temperature Display - Where?
My 2018 E300 has the 12 inch Instrument Panel Display.
I can't find the Engine Coolant Temperature Display.
Is there such a display or only a red light if engine overheats?

Does it depend on the settings, according to the manual the W213 has a similar coolant temperature indicator as I have on the 222. The indicator is first blue but at decent temperatures it gives actual values.

The progressive display with speed in the center doesn’t have a thermometer.
I’ve found it in the menu ... quite a hassle to check engine temp. No other indicator?
thanks.

I have my cluster set on the image that Diesel Benz posted. If you have the standard RPM meter, you will get it . However, I often times like to include the eco display which takes over it.

Is there any need to check coolant temp? I'd be amazed if a warning doesn't flash up if the temp gets too high so as long as the vehicle is behaving what's the benefit of looking?

Other than initial warm-up, I don't know that I've seen a car made in the past 10+ years which shows any variation in temperature during normal operation. Once they're up to temperature, the gauge seems to stay firmly planted on its normal operating spot until the car's shut off.
I do use the temperature gauge in cooler weather and don't let the engine hit any decent revs until the engine's almost up to normal operating temperature. It may be old fashioned, but I got 225,000 miles out of my last car and hope to do the same out of my new one. With the newer engines being lighter & made of lighter castings, I'm thinking it's probably an even better idea now.

a workaround is to activate linguatronics and say "engine data"
CORRECTION: this show the oil temp...
I use the progressive display, but have "driver assist "
activated so it shows the car in front of me and not the engine temp!

Does your engine warm up very slowly ... like 15 minutes?
I've found that, but it's not practical for me, as I prefer to have the radio stations on the left side, as I switch often between many Sirius and FM stations.
This is strange, because the 2017 has the temp display at the bottom of the dial. Strange that they removed it.
One question: Does your engine warm up very slowly ... something like 15 minutes? My previous 2015 C300 (same engine) was very fast to warm up.

yeah I dont have the coolant temp on the engine data screen on the navigation display. Yes, it can take a very long time for oil temp to reach operating temperature above 170 degrees, about 15 minutes of driving. Coolant as I mentioned is much faster
