2018 E400 delivery delay

Hi everyone,

I placed an order for an '18 E400 way back in April. Was told it was built in July and by late August was told it arrived in Halifax and was awaiting delivery for mid September. I still haven't received the car and the only thing the dealer can tell me is it is being held in Halifax waiting some sort of repairs and this delay affects all '18 E400s. I don't see much sign of this on the forums.

Anyone have any info they can share on what the delay is about or is there something funny going on with my dealer?

Thanks in advance

Chris

I encountered something similar with mine. It is currently on the truck to be delivered this week after a February order. Lots of them were held up, though mine just ended up in a later decade due to the changes to the parts. Yours probably needed work done before being released instead of simply being assembled to the new spec.

For reference, mine is a wagon but I believe the change is affecting all E400's.

I don't think the E400 sedan was released for sale until like October 17

OP is in Canada I think (Halifax Nova Scotia being the port) which is why it should have been released already.

I am in Canada yes (Toronto area) and beyond sending me a news article of a large scale recall, the dealer claims they have no update or info on when my vehicle will be released. It was ordered 7 months ago today with an initially quoted delivery date of mid August.

I was subjected to a long wait for my cars. They were held up in Halifax for 12 weeks and finally released. I took delivery of both cars the first week of Nov. I was never told what the exact delay was, but the air suspension and software issues were mentioned.

Were the cars worth the wait? Probably!!! My wife and I are very happy with the cars and so far they appear to be everything we expected.

Congrats! I found out today that mine hasn’t left the port (Long Beach) yet - it was supposed to arrive yesterday. Oh well.

And apparently it is on the truck now (supposedly) so maybe I spoke too soon
