Infrared Reflective Windshield for parking transponder
I am just wondering if anyone had any problem using parking transponder under windshield? I have the heated windshield opinion, not sure if it is related.
I tried the area which is in the center of the windshield and close to the engine part, doesn't work.
I tried the area on the right side of the rear-view mirror, doesn't work.
I have to open the sunroof every time to get in and out of the car park.
Any one has or had similar experience before?
Thanks.

Heated windshield != Infrared-reflecting. Two different products.
If you have a heated windshield, there should be very fine wires running all throughout the glass. If so, see if there's a spot which doesn't have the wires -- that'll be where you can put the transponder.
If there's no such spot, and you have a sticker-type vs. box-type transponder, try taping it to the inside of the sunroof and see if that works. Not sure it will as I believe the sunroofs are infrared-reflecting glass.

I didn't notice any wires within the glass, at least not noticeable from outside. On the manual, it states there are 2 places should be OK for transponder like devices,
but I tried, neither of them works until I hold the transponder and reach out of the sunroof glass.
Just want to see if anyone else had similar experience.

I reckon it is radio, but seems either the coating or the wires inside the windshield has something to do with the transponder's reading signal.
The manual mentioned that "The coating shields the vehicle interior against radio waves up into the gigahertz range." That's what I am guessing it may affect the transponder.

Finally, I figured out, the designated area showing on the manual are actually working, it is the transponder does not trigger the reading device to open the gate fast enough, takes about 2-3 seconds.
All good now.
