2017 E 300 4 Matic
Engine Oil Overfill Message

Anyone know if a 2017 E300 4Matic displays a warning message "Reduce Engine Oil Level" if you put too much oil in the crankcase? Some models have this message. One dealer told me that my car did and one dealer told me that it did not have this feature. The dealer filled the engine to a level 2 inches above the max fill level on the dipstick. The manual says over filling can damage the engine or the catalytic converter and should be siphoned off. I am interested in a factual answer from someone who knows. Thanks for your help.

It is superbly overfilled! Why would you make that up? Stupid dealer.

2017 E 300 4 Matic
Thanks for the advice. I took the car to the dealer and they broke out the siphon. Now I am wondering if I have a dipstick that has been made too long. Anyone have a 2017 E300 4Matic Sedan that you can give me the dimension of your dipstick from the yellow seating surface to the tip of the plastic end piece. Just a sanity check to humor an engineer. The dealer couldn't do it because they didn't have a 4Matic on the lot and it has a different dipstick.

The only problematic dipstick in this situation is the dipstick at the dealership who added too much oil to your car!
