Voice dialing
Help....
I cannot find any solution to this, and no one at my dealer seems to know the answer either....
When making a phone call via voice activation, and after the number dialed rings, and is answered via canned recorded greeting, and you then have to put in an extension number , how do you do it ??
Moreover, some numbers require you hit the ' # ' before entering the extension number .....
How can this be done??

The input/extension needs to be in your contacts/phone book on your phone. I'm a Blackberry user, on a contact with an extension we'd add spaces or **, can't remember its been awhile. Then when using the voice dialing in the car it would do its thing. But your fix is within the phone not the car.

With the iPhone, use commas to insert pauses in the number you're dialing. I have an entry in my Outlook contacts under "Office," which enables the car's system to find and use it (as I've posted before, the car's computer is confused by words such as "Avenue" instead of "Ave" and so can't use the full Outlook addresses to make calls or for guidance — really stupid error by MB). Anyway, my office answering system picks up after 2 rings if there is one or more messages and after 5 rings if there are none. So I've programed my entry in Outlook to include only the word "office" (i.e., no street address, etc.) and have configured the number like this:
xxx-xxx-xxxx,,,yyy,,,,2,,,1
The "xxx" is the code I have to enter to hear whether I have any messages, and the "2" followed by the "1" are required to hear only new messages.
So, the two commas force my iPhone to wait a few seconds before sending the "any messages" code; if I call and the office phone doesn't pick up after a couple of rings, I hang up; if it does pick up after 2 rings, the rest of the commas and numbers force the iPhone to wait long before sending the command to hear new messages (if sent too soon, the office phone ignores it).
