My wife opened the trunk by kicking her foot under the back of the car, leaned in the trunk to get a package and the trunk lid activated , came down and hit her in the head . We ended up in the Emergency Room and she had to get a CT scan as the bruise was really bad and she barely there was a possibility of internal bleeding.She is OK - but very unhappy with the E-350
Question: Can the feature be Turned off?

You left out the bit where she either waved her foot under the boot or hit the button to close it. Either way you're going to have to find out what fuse that goes through and remove it. I'm not a mechanic nor have I ever played one on TV. Sorry about the missus, hope she's not too sore...
