Sensor Question
I have an E400 and I notice that when I go into the garage the sensor display comes us and as I get close to the sides the areas appear red and the car give its warning beeps. When I exit the garage the next day the display comes up and I see red sections but some days I get beeps while other days I do not. Is this supposed to happen or is there something wrong?

i have same problem (discussed in other thread):
when reversing and turning at the same time the nose of the car
goes in the direction of a wall/car & the display goes red.
But sometimes with and sometimes without sound!
the radar is very erratic. this, plus the very faint beeping sound
of the rear radar, makes me have very little faith it in.
my w212 was much better in this respect

I find the proximity display and warnings (beeping) to be consistent — as noted, it depends on how close you are to an object, such as the wall of your garage or the edge of the garage door jamb.

The problem continues.
I noticed that it's actually only at startup that the radar doesn't beep in reverse.
I takes a while for it t start working properly. Strange....

can someone confirm to me that when display goes into RED the radar should ALWAYS beep ?
as advised in some situations (mainly when backing out) the display goes red, but no beeps.
BUT.. if I then stop the car and steer to the left or right, it does start to beep depending on wheel angle.
fyi: I've now switched off the "early feature".
