Trying to gain some details on the AutoVin Pre Lease Inspection for those who have gone through them recently - how meticulously do they inspect the vehicle or has there been any bad experiences that you had to challenge the inspection? I believe only thing I would probably get dinged for is a bald tire, but that should be covered by the $500.00 credit that you receive when getting another MB. Whats the best way to check if you car still has 1/8th tread left??

Returned two cars last year which both had curb rashes on the front passenger bumper. one was charged $250 as a scratch and the other was counted as a "dent" for $2k. Straight up fraud by autovin and mercedes. called and disputed both cases but mercedes would not budge. left a very bad taste in my mouth and did not purchase a S550 convertible I had on order. They check every inch of the car. Recently returned another E350 which did not even get inspected by autovin, had fixed the car up and made it look brand new. what a waste of money on both ends. It can be a hit or miss. A tire depending on car is $300, just take it to a tire shop and have them tell you the tire depth.
