After I had the car for a couple weeks I went on a vacation. Late one day after a lot of driving the HUD display started to fade out starting in the upper left corner and the fade got larger until nearly all that was left was the lower right corner. Stopped to eat and when I started it back up and the problem was gone. Later in the drive it started again but I finished the drive before it got really large. No problem since, just that one day.

in the manual it says if the HUD starts fading press the HUD button (left of steering wheel) to turn it off then back on. Try that next time.

I have had the blue lines on several occasions usually after a short stop in hot weather. Always goes of it's own accord after restarting following a longer stop. I put it down to some sort of coding glitch rather like the way media and radio output can refuse to work again after a short stop.

it's nice to be able to turn off the infotainment with the power button

It happened yesterday to my 2017 S213 after short stop in hot weather. As described it went away after few minutes driving. I spoke with my mechanic and he told me it is known software issue with the capacitors timing and it takes approx 1 hour of programming to fix it.

Thanks for this useful to know what is happening and ties in completely with my experience which is always after a short stop and usually in hot weather. An irritating but nothing to worry about problem. Much appreciated you took the time to post thanks
