coding as in:
video in motion - playing movies while driving
disabling auto start/stop
having the car keep the heating seats and steering wheel on after you shut it off so when you remote start it later both come on
enabling features other features that are disabled because of US regulations and/or enabling features that are disabled in p2 package that could be turned on which are part of the p3 package
etc...
usually done through the ODB connected it to a laptop with software..

Check out Crux VIM activation for W213 on Amazon...I've seen similar setups but have not personally tried it.

G'Day fizad99, have a look at the VIM and ECO Start Stop -Off in eBay could be what you are looking for.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MERCEDES...5/261281467593

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MERCEDES-ECO-Start-Stop-OFF-W213-C238-2016-and-W222FL-MY2018/253177763173?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2057872.m2749.l2649

I have the Crux VIM activation it works very well.

I have it in my car for about 10 months and its still working 100% O.K.

Just ordered the ECO-Start-Stop-OFF- will let you know how well it works when i get it and have it working in my car.
Hope this information is of some help.

Thank you this does help alot! i had a guy who coded my 5 series charged me $200 and was able to code over a dozen settings and i had a 17 A4 that had 1 ODBC with a android app to code for over a dozen settings...you could do long coding or have the app do it for you but it would charge you based on the feature a few bucks, ranging from $3 to $20 based on how nice the feature was..... these MB ODBC's are changing one thing at a time and such a high cost...who ever is creating these is smart to not let people use it on multiple cars....but thanks again, very good to know i have this option.

G'Day again fizad99,
It may be a few hundred bucks but at least you get what you want and it works well
and for me that is the most important thing.
It is very smart to not let people use it on multiple cars but i can understand why it is done like that.
All i can say is good luck to him we all need to make a few bucks.

This link can help you get started doing you own coding/monitoring. With a lan monitor one may be able to view exactly what bits the expensive OBD tools are changing to set various options. Happy hacking!

just a update, talked to the ebay guy who is selling the ODBC, it wont work on 2018 E-class, for the 18's you need to take the entire front module out and hook up a wire he sells....wayyy too complicated and risky.... just incase anyone is wondering and they read this thread...out of luck for the 18s.

Had the ECO Start Stop -Off delivered today.
Great product fast and simple.
Only needed 20 seconds and it was all done.
Just what i have been looking for from day 1 of having my car.
Now i have OFF as default setting.
Now i can have the ECO Start Stop on or off when i want.

I have a 2017 E Class.
I did send an email with my VIN number to make sure that it would be O.K. for my car
and was told that it would be all good.
You should send an email with your Vin number just to be sure.

That is a bit of bad luck.
I sure if you just keep looking one day down the track you will find what you are looking for.
I just kept looking and 10 months later I'm a happy boy.
Wish you the best hope you find it soon.

That is the same response I got also.
Anyone else have any easier solution for the 2018 W213 instead of taking apart the center console? I would so love a OBD solution.

See my post. It took me less than a minute and uses the OBD port.
