There is not a purpose built space in the US models for a spare tire. It must compete with luggage space.
Here is the list of MB Part Numbers:
Compact spare: 213-400-06-00
Jack: 164-580-02-18
Ratcheting jack handle: 414-581-00-49
Lug wrench: 221-581-00-01
Container TireFit: 000-583-31-100
The jack parts can be generic from a local source.

My car came with the jack, lug wrench, wheel chock, safety vest, and white gloves all neatly secured in an "A213 899 02 00 BUT of course no spare tire. There must be some logic in there somewhere.

Mine came with no tools, no wheel chock, no safety vest and no white gloves. Oh, but it has RFT, I guess they realized yours made no logical sense and deleted all that stuff.

Can't get 213-400-06-00 at all
I just called my dealer re: the above spare for my 2017 E300 4Matic. He said that the part is unavailable anywhere. Not in Germany or the US. He told me I'd have to buy a full size spare tire and rim. Rim for $400 plus whatever the tire cost plus mounting, etc. I can get the tire from tirerack.com for about $120; it's 135-70R19. Finding the rim for the spare is another problem. Let me know if you find anything.

Edit: Exactly the wheel Marc Kaplan posted above (do not forget to change the tire).

Thanks but what about the rim? I called another dealer who said the spare was not available "yet" in Germany but he could order it, pay for it and it should be available within 30 days. Seems iffy to me. Any idea on rim? Thanks

BTW, in addition to this thread, this topic was also addressed in great detail here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w213/732648-doughnut-spare-tire-2019-e-450-a.html . Post #7.

My wife hit a pot hole and blew a tire. She drove home on it and took it to the dealer the next day. One hour later she had a new tire and was on her way. They are run flat tires. You can drive on them. What's all the fuss about???

You are fortunate that the side wall wasn't ruptured and there was a dealer within driving distance - 19 miles (30 km) or 50 miles (80 km) depending on the vehicle loading. There are 4 or 5 MB dealers in my metro area yet one can still be beyond the allowable driving distance without leaving town. So much for urban sprawl. BTDT - I had to get transported on a flat bed truck to the nearest dealer with a replacement tire. (It was not the closest dealer). Tire shops do not stock run flat tires.

Those with US version W213 wagons, could the cross beam sheet metal be cut out of the spare tire wheel? Any pics of it in there? If it was done cleanly and touched up properly a non-leased wagon could be modified then.
Seems like you're explaining that MB just added this cross beam (formed sheet metal) to keep us from having a doughnut spare as my current W211 has under the third row seats. That being said, could the third row seats of the W213 wagon be removed and a doughnut spare fit in their then?

I came across this thread, so I thought I would chime in.
Around 1998 or so, I was in my 1997 Lexus LS400, driving in fast, rush hour traffic, at night, on the infamous I405, going south through Long Beach. I was in the fast lane, probably doing 70 or so. My right front tire hit something that SHREDDED the Michelin. I never saw the object and still don’t know what I hit. I was able to get all the way over to the right shoulder and called AAA. However, before AAA came, a Metro tow truck pulled up behind me. The driver jacked up my car, put my full-size spare on, put my shredded tire and messed up alloy wheel in the trunk and I was home for dinner. Had that been a run flat tire, I would have gone for a ride in the tow truck, would have had to leave my car somewhere overnight, rent a car or taken a taxi home, had to deal with trying to find the correct tire AND WHEEL the next day, yada, yada, yada!
Now, let’s have this same thing happen on a family vacation to Yellowstone. Your car is towed to Earl’s Fillin’ Station, with you, the wife & kids trailing in a taxi—hopefully. Earl peers at the tire and says “I ain’t naer seen a tar like thissun. Guess I’ll have to call Omaha in the mornin and see if they can send one out double quick. Guess we’ll have to find a wheel, too.” So, you and your family will have to spend a night or THREE at the No-Tell Motel “down the road a piece.” Run flat tires 1. Family vacation ZERO.
I love MB cars, but not offering a spare, at least as an option, for owners in a huge country like the USA, is just plain STUPID, IDIOTIC and a sure sign of HEAD-UP-THEIR-*** syndrome. Driving without a spare outside of a large Metro area is like playing Russian Roulette with the safety of your family. I carry a compact spare that sits on TOP of the trunk floor in my S560 sedan.
If we are ever to see this problem cured, I suggest that EVERY time YOU interact with ANYONE from MB, be it a salesperson, service writer, MBUSA rep, you GIVE THEM AN EARFUL! It’s bad enough that they don’t give us a jack & spare, but to INTENTIONALLY remove the frigging PLACE to put one, should an owner wish to provide their own, is unconscionable! Honestly, whomever made the decision to eliminate the jack & spare in MB vehicles should LIKEWISE be ELIMINATED!

my early 2017 comes with a jack and tools but no spare, I never understood why it was included. but later built loaners I had never had the jack and tools. Very idiotic not to include a spare.

The spare is from a W221 S Class Sedan and I bought it on eBay. I had the dealer mount it on both front & rear and it fits. I bought my jack & tool kit also on eBay, from a supplier in Germany. I run Bridgestone Serenity Plus conventional tires on 18” wheels and my S560 with MBC, rides better than any car I have driven or ridden in.
