Unfortunately, that part number is only for the yellow label, not the bolt. Cost$1.41

[QUOTE=The_Judge;7731889]Are these the correct bolts?

Thanks so much. I'll contact this company tomorrow. I'm sure they can help to confirm the exact size for my spare.

Yes they are, I am sure because I replaced my original MB rims with aftermarket. Just yesterday I removed a wheel to check a spare donut I purchased on eBay and those are the bolts that came with the aftermarket rims and they worked perfectly. The only thing I should warn you about is that if you have AWD is not to use the donut. I learned that yesterday after visiting a tire shop to purchase a new tire for the donut. It will throw your AWD our of alignment if all the tires aren’t the same diameter. I will offer my donut on eBay for sale with this disclaimer
Still making sure the bolt is the correct one for the spare. Taking it to be checked out tomorrow. Have part # 0009908307 but it looks too short. Many sites make a longer one M14x1.5.
Thanks all

That's the bolt I have x 5 to try tomorrow. I put this bolt through one of the holes in the spare tire rim and there was some thread poking through. I just don't how much thread is necessary to hold the spare properly. The guy will check it out tomorrow. If I need more thread, then I'll have to experiment with longer wheel bolts. Perhaps 28 mm or 31 mm. We'll see. Thanks

Thanks. For my new spare tire any you saying that the spare tire bolts need to go into the hub 20mm? I'm still trying to figure out the proper wheel bolt length for the spare.

Problem solved
Took the spare tire and rim, part 213-400-06-00 with the newly purchased shorter wheel bolts to my alignment guy today. The short bolt, M14 x 1.5 26mm was too short to mount the spare; but, the factory stock bolts were perfect, front and rear. This was double checked by another tech. Life is good.

Hi, All: I just wanted to thank you for the education/information I obtained from you re: spare tire options for a 2018 E300 Sedan with 245/40R19 Run Flats. As I may have mentioned in a prior post I am a single female that regularly drives I-40 from Vegas to Santa Fe...often during the Summer. So, I was really concerned that I had no spare.
In any case, with all that I learned on this Forum, I was able to find the following on E-bay: (1) Mercedes W221 19"Space Saver Spare Wheel 135/70R19 and (2) Mercedes W221 Spare Wheel Retainer Bolt Spare Wheel Lug Nuts A2218980714. Today, German Motors here in Vegas made sure both of these parts worked on my car. Unfortunately, as you all know, this spare does not fit in the well beneath the trunk:so I will be folding down the back seats for luggage, etc. on my trips.

Don't know why MB makes it so hard to find a spare. Best of luck.

I appreciate all the knowledge and experience that has been shared on this thread. I am now the proud owner of a spare tire and changing tools for my 2018 E-300.
I ended up buying it from www.mercedespartshub.com.
213-400-06-00 Compact Spare $375.06
205-580-01-00 Vehicle Tool Kit $97.11
I started out on www.mercedesbenzpartscenter.com, which was referenced in this thread. That site looked great until I actually tried to submit my order. It gave me a weird error message that there was no shipping method available. I called the site, and they said they couldn't order the spare tire. I suspect there is a story behind that, but I didn't attempt to investigate further.
There was some concern mentioned on this thread that the vehicle tool kit above was not a complete toolkit, because it was too cheap, compared to the individual tool components listed by ua549, which cost about twice as much.
Jack: 164-580-02-18
Ratcheting jack handle: 414-581-00-49
Lug wrench: 221-581-00-01
The tool kit does in fact contain everything needed to change a tire, but IMO the jack is a rather odd design. You have to be careful to make sure it is lifting straight up, or it can slip sideways (to the left or right of the car). I'm OK with it, but if I was buying again, I would spend the extra money for the one ua549 suggested.
There was also some discussion on this thread about needing shorter lug nuts with the spare. That did not seem to be the case for me. I have a service coming up, and I plan to have them check to make sure there isn't anything I'm missing.
On a side note, I did a test of removing a tire and putting on the spare. I was surprised that the tire on my two-year-old car was seized in place, and it wouldn't come off after I removed the lug nuts. The only time I experienced that before was on a car that was 11 years old. I found a suggestion to loosen each lug nut by one revolution and then drive the car forward and back a few car lengths to break the bond, and that worked for me.
I ended up buying it from www.mercedespartshub.com.

Mercedes ruled out
I really preferred a Mercedes as my favorite car brand and own a W212 with a spare. However this silly Mercedes decision to eliminate the spare tire has forced me to switch my choice for my next car/SUV to BMW or Audi. BMW also eliminated the spare a while back, but reinstated it after customer complaints which Mercedes apparently ignores.

A spare is an option: The cost is $150. Just went to BMW web site: It seems that the space saver spare is available with both RF and non RF - which are great choices.
However, I do not know how much of the trunk space you give up with the space saver spare.
Hope this helps

I just called my dealer re: the above spare for my 2017 E300 4Matic. He said that the part is unavailable anywhere. Not in Germany or the US. He told me I'd have to buy a full size spare tire and rim. Rim for $400 plus whatever the tire cost plus mounting, etc. I can get the tire from tirerack.com for about $120; it's 135-70R19. Finding the rim for the spare is another problem. Let me know if you find anything.

Your best and cheapest way to get a spare is to do what I did for my 2019 E450 wagon, call few of your local tire shops and ask if they have a black winter wheel and then ask if they have a decent used tire to put on it. I found a guy for $135 cdn cash out the door and balanced. I would only put the spare in the back if I was going on a long trip, otherwise MB road service can take over in town. Oh, I also purchased a MB tire change kit on Ebay for $20

Thanks for the information. I have gone a different route after talking with my long time tire dealer. I have two cans of fix a flat and a 12V portable compressor as my years of experience with flats has been primarily with nails, bolts etc. Only a couple total tire destruction incidents with a car. But.. my car hauler I have had the "bombs" go off! Also into the decision is the service wrecker. It is a 3rd party that comes and gets you through MB and they work you in especially in remote area. Now if anyone can figure how to get a windshield for my GLE as it's been 3 weeks now and I am down to number 74 in the country on the waiting list.

Remember that fix a flat will ruin your TPS and it has been posted, if left for over two hours, the labor involved to get the stuff off your wheel is more than the cost of new wheel. So between new TPS sensors and cost of cleaning up Fix a flat, it is cheaper to just get a new wheel.

Mercedes Spare tire
I have a genuine MB spare tire for sale. It's size is 155/60/18 and outside diameter is 25.32 inches. The bolt pattern is 5x112. Make sure your existing wheel and tires on the car match that size to prevent damage to the 4matic system. I am asking $200 +shipping.
