Radio in Progressive Display

When I use the mini-radio feature in my Progressive display on my 2018 E400, on some stations I don't get the song name and artist only the station name while on others I get everything. These are my preset stations and all the information shows up in the main radio display. Has anyone experienced this?

The information comes from the broadcaster. If the radio station is not broadcasting the data, our cars will not be able to display it

Thanks but the radio shows the information in the main display just not in the mini display for some stations. I think this may be a software issue.

I asked the dealer to look at this and apparently its a software issue and they need to update the system but the software is still in Germany.

Someone should tell Mercedes that they can send software updates from Germany to dealers in other countries using the internet, and that those pesky DVD-ROMs are no longer necessary...
Jokes aside, the fact that one has to take the car into the dealer for a simple software/firmware update is ridiculous in this day and age. The computing hardware in a car is a lot simpler than for instance, in an Apple Mac Book Pro, and in any event Tesla has been doing over-the-air software updates for years...

OTA updates are not foolproof and introduce many safety issues. It can take hours to update firmware. The W213 computing hardware is much more complex than an Apple Mac Book Pro or any other consumer system. The computing system in a W213 is comprised of ~50 separate controllers (computers) that are networked together via multiple LANs. Vic probably can tell us exactly how many computers and LANs are in a fully configured W213.

Konigstiger, another +1 from a networking type... Very fascinating to go through. I've often wondered where the various modules in the car lived.

I took the car into the dealer and they updated the system but I still have the same issue. Can someone let me know if this is normal? I have attached pictures where you can see the song information in the main display but not in the min display.

So it looks like you are showing Presets and Channel 76 on Sirius XM? The other examples are FM Radio. All posters should "switch" signals and see how (if) that alters the results.
