What is this LED light on bottom of interior mirror?
My wife pointed this out to me last night (see photos). It is a small LED light that is on and turns off around 1-2 minutes after you turn off the car and exit. The manual doesn't mention this and there seems to be no way of turning off.
As the others have noted, it's a dim form of ambient lighting. It's a bit of a carry-over from a few generations' behind. It's there primarily to dimly illuminate the center stack. Interesting fact: This light is somewhat independent of the headlights. I was driving in rain today, headlights on, and the light never came on. As soon as I pulled into the parking garage, it came on.
