12v power to charge phone
I placed my order last week for an E220d 4matic estate. I currently drive a C250d 4matic estate. The c came with the smokers pack as standard in the centre console in my home market France (no surprise!). However the E now comes with the drinks holders and the smokers pack (an ashtray and cigaratte lighter) was a €100 optional extra. At the time of ordering I simply ignored it as I am not a smoker. However it dawned on me yesterday as I connected my phone to the samsung cigarette lighter adapter I keep in the console I will no longer have that option.
My question is therefore do any of the usb offer a charging facility. I did not choose the induction charging system for a mobile at €400 euro as I was happy with my current system but now realise of course it will no longer be available. Alternatively is there still a 12v outlet with the cupholders?

You can charge your phone from the USB slot in the armrest storage area. Indeed the lid closes with the charging cable sticking out...

USB ports are limited to 5 volts and will not work with a 12 volt charger.
My car has no 12v sockets anywhere.
AFAIK the 12v sockets are optional equipment as was my 110v receptacle on the back of the console.

Actually the OP wanted "12v power to charge phone" and asked "Alternatively is there still a 12v outlet with the cupholders?".
The answer is that a USB port cannot provide "12v power to charge phone". There may or may not be a USB charger that will work with the OP's phone. There may or many not be a 12v outlet with the cup holders depending on options.

On my car inside the front cupholder compartment is a USB port, but there is a 12volt outlet on the right side of the transmission tunnel, toward the footwell. It is hard to see if you have black carpeting.

Many thanks for the replies and especially the photo. Currently I charge a samsung s7 via a samsung adapter which plugs into the cigarette lighter in my french spec C class. So I was looking for either a 12v socket where the cigarette lighter would be if I had chosen the 100 euro smokers pack which includes an ashtray, or a usb port which had power to charge the phone either in the cupholder cubby or under the seat armrest. There are 2 usb ports in my c class under the seat arm rest but both are data transfer only and do not charge.
my question has been answered thank you! It seems that possibly in the eclass 2 phones can be charged simultaneously which will be useful, 1 via the 12v socket and 1 via the usb. An upgrade

I have Premium P1 package and the optional 110 volt power outlet. Mine is a wagon, so it has a 12 volt outlet on the front passenger side of the transmission tunnel, the back of the console and on the right side of the cargo area.

What's the charging current on those? I like the 12v sockets better as you can get a quick charge 2.0 or 3.0 and that will charge the phone faster than a regular USB port.

For cars with a USB port in the cupholder area, there *IS* a 12v socket up front! It's well hidden, but it's there -- look in the passenger footwell area, next to the transmission tunnel. Dumbest place to put it, but indeed there is one there. The only reason I knew it was there was I read about it in the owner's manual...and even then I didn't find it until I got down on the ground outside the car and looked in.

Center console on left, glove box in front... and waay below that is the 12v outlet
Side view of the passenger's footwell. Note the cargo webbing for location reference. Definitely one of those last minute , "Oh, we have to put a 12v outlet up front? No worries boss! I'll make sure it gets in the production model."
