Impressed with Drive Pilot on long trip
I took my 2018 E400C on it's first road trip last week (about 800 miles round trip), and was really impressed with how much of the driving the car did for me. On the open interstate with good lane markings, I just gave the steering wheel a tug every 30 seconds or so, and it did the rest. I'd conservatively estimate that the car did the driving 98% of the miles. Made a big difference in how I felt after 6 hours behind the wheel.
Driving on local highways with not so good lane markings, it's often more of an annoyance than a help.
Also, I averaged 31 mpg outbound (tailwind), and 29 coming home (headwind). Way better than the 26 EPA figure, and a little better than my last two smaller, less powerful cars on the same trip.

I took my E-300 round trip from New England to Florida this winter. And I also agree with you. The steering and the Distronic cruise control takes a lot of the stress out of the drive. I was also impressed with the GPS. I had it set at the shortest time. The ETA did not waver that much so I assumed it was taking into account the traffic along the way. It also made some major alternative route calls that probably saved me 15 - 30 minutes each in Washington DC and New York.
