May be just my eyes but whenever I see the older models mine just looks much smaller compared to them. It’s like I know it’s suppose to be larger at least from what Mercedes claims. Haven’t been in the back seat of the older models but it just seems like they have more leg room than the 2017 & 2018 models. Feel like I should’ve gotten a S-Class. Love everything about this car but wish it was just a little wider and longer.

I think it would be great if they sold a long wheelbase version. Maybe the Chinese market will encourage them to, but the only long wheelbase midsize seems to be the Volvo S90 and I'm not sure how well they are selling (great cars though).

The new E is longer and wider including a longer wheelbase. The earlier model were taller and their engines had more horsepower. Here's a video that provides a lot of visuals:

The W213 E-Class grew 43 mm in length to 4,923 mm (194 in). Wheelbase was also extended 65 mm to 2,939 mm (116 in), resulting in shorter overhangs. It is 2 mm narrower and 6 mm lower than its predecessor.
