‘17 E300W4 Engine just stops while at speed. Throws inoperative message.
So my E300W4 (17) has ‘“died” on me at speed on 12+ occasions. Car is at Knopf MB Allentown PA for 3rd time due to this dangerous situation.
When the car dies (rpm to 0) I have to hit engine stop (at speed) then engine start then shift into drive. If I manage to get car to side of road and repeat same sequence the car often dies upon first touch to accelerator.
Upon first service, dealer updated Software.
At second attempt dealer checked replaced:
541011 replaced contact bushings.
540650 checked OB Power Voltage maintained.
070641 Check Engine Assembly.
070652 Check Throttle Valve Actuator.
547989 Reground OB Elec Sys Battery.
549203 replace Contact Terminal.
540991 Program and code control unit.
11589 code test p213800 Check tips/replace female ends in connector found in topic L154.18-P-057927.
Help!

Is is still covered by PAs Lemon Law (less than a year old or 12K miles, I believe)?
The law reads:
§ 1956. Presumption of a reasonable number of attempts. It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken to repair or correct a nonconformity if:
The same nonconformity has been subject to repair three times by the manufacturer, its agents or authorized dealers and the nonconformity still exists; or the vehicle is out-of-service by reason of any nonconformity for a cumulative total of 30 or more calendar days.
That situation would freak me out.

Yeah it it stinks when your engine repeatedly stops working at any speed. MB is outing my life/health and others at risk.

12 times it’s done this? Twelve. I’m not sure it’s wise to keep to say the least.
Russian roulette anyone?
You mentioned that you push the start button twice then put the car in drive.
Wasn’t it in drive in the first place?

Wow, reminds me of a bad alternator I had on another make of car a long time ago. Always dying at speed. But in this case I would suspect something electric as well. However, because it is intermittent and they can't seem to fix it, I wouldn't trust driving it either. Time for a buyback.
