Add subwoofer to new E200
Hi, Fellow Merc owners, any new E class owner who has installed a subwoofer in your car? I was told sound cannot travel to the cabin for trunk-installed subwoofers due to sound insulation. Is underseat active subwoofers the only solution? Kindly share your experiences. Thanks.

Almost all good subwoofers are installed in the trunk, due to their size. The subs are 'tuned' to the rest of the stereo in spite of the seats. You will notice a bit of a difference in bass with the seats folded down, for example. But the sound is just fine with the seats there. This is mostly due to the low frequencies from the subs. The low frequencies are much less affected than mid to high frequencies.
