AC Gave up already...

Wanted to see if anyone else has experienced AC failure on a W213. I have had mine for about 18 months, and it has about 7,600 miles on it. Over the weekend, the AC stopped being able to keep up with the outside temp and the car never got cool inside. The air from the AC vents is cool, but not cold - and it does not appear to be related anything I have changed in terms of settings.

I have an appointment for Monday with the dealer, is there anything I might be missing? I really hate to waste the time to go to the dealer, get a loaner and all of that... Thanks, everyone.

If it's any consolation, my 2015 W212 had multiple AC issues when new, with one being a leaky AC refrigerant line.

As far as the W213's AC, I've been told by the dealership that they're far less problematic than the W212.. That said, my W213's AC is rather weak for my liking. I prefer ~38F-40F air from the vents when cooling.

Definitely agree that the AC in the w213 is weak and also there is a huge difference in fan power when going from 5 to 6 and 7. Even so I don't the temp is as cool as it should be.

There is only two things I can think of to check:

1. Make sure the A/C button is on. If it is off, it won't blow cold air into the cabin. It will only blow "cool" air in.

2. Turn off the engine start/stop feature. I have noticed that if my E is sitting at a light for an extended period of time and the engine is "off" because of the start/stop feature, the A/C will not blow cold air and only blow "cool" air.

We still see a/c line leaks on brand new cars, I had to replace one on a 3 day old SL450 that was apparently delivered with no a/c, nobody bothered to check until the new owner already had the car. Needless to say, he was NOT happy. Simple fix once we had the new part, but it appears that the soldering of the low pressure lines isn't the best at times. I've replaced several on S class, CLA, all different models.

Sad to see problems like this so soon. Let us know what the dealer finds.

So... update. AC worked fine on way home from airport last night and works fine today. I am thinking there is still an issue, but if it works for now, I can put off the diagnostic until I have more time. So - I am going to cancel Monday and see how it goes - nobody has time to mess around getting a car fixed... Thanks for all of your input. Ed

I just checked my E300 A/C with an electronic thermometer. Outlet temperature is 40°F (4°C) while ambient outside temperature is 91°F (33°C).
