2018 W213 how to activate Engineering mode / Mirrorlink ?
Got my new W213 this July. Quickly realized that AndroidAuto is totally unusable because of this "omg don't permit anything because its distracting" mentality. Also google maps/waze are crap offline and they don't have any lane assist.
Anyway, I want to display my favorite navigation app on the car screen. Yes I know there is AAMirror, but the phone must be rooted for that. I keep hitting dead ends with AndroidAuto.
How can I enable Mirrorlink? Or the "Engineering mode" menu? The screen doesn't look anything like the 2016-2017 versions, holding down the button is also not working of course.
Some people also say that these activator OBD sticks also stopped working above the 2017 versions.
Thanks.

Yup, tried 2 dealers during the week, they just won't do it. It's so annoying. How do these diagnostic tools work? One just needs an obd-usd plug plus software, right? There is actually an xentry torrent, 27 gigs.
