We're going to be a 2 E Class household too. My daily driver is a 2005 E320 CDI with 110,000 miles, excellent condition. I think I'm going to keep it because the dealer won't take a 13 year old trade, and the most I could sell it for would be about $8,000. If I keep it out of the Arizona sun it might last forever. Did I mention it gets hot here, and dry as a popcorn fart? Rubber parts of cars do not like it here.

It's great to hear your E320 is still going strong. That's a great testament to MB quality. Rubber parts of cars aren't very happy in the Florida sun and heat either!

Today's adventure in Mercedes Land: We went over to the dealership at lunch and drove a Black E400 with Q2 (which is the P2 package minus the Digital Instrument Cluster) and White E300, with the same package, including Panoramic Sunroof and 19" wheels. Inside is Black (MB-Tex - which he likes and Natural Grain Black Ash dash, doors and center console). Surprisingly, the one he decided he wants is the E300. I must admit I was very surprised how much oomph the 300 has. Yes, the E400 is faster out the gate, but the acceleration in the 300 is all he really needs or wants. Bonus: It will cost over $4K less!

It appears, we're scheduled to pick this one up on Saturday. And for me, I sill have to wait.........

I think you'll be glad you did I have those now and they look better than the 18's you pictured. Wheels are the car's "shoes". Ya need nice looking shoes!

Thanks. If you saw, the white one we're picking up this weekend will also have the "nice looking shoes!"

This is what I'll be getting, which are still good looking:

And yes, I'm getting an amazing discount. Truly. But I'm sworn to secrecy as I've bought more cars in 20 years from this dealer than I have fingers and toes and they give me a major discount off MSRP.
Congrats on your selection!
The discount better be 15% off for a custom build to be sworn to secrecy. Enjoy!

Three things:

1) They will be easier to clean;
2) 1 out of 100 or maybe 1 out of 1000 will notice the difference!
3 Two weeks after you have the car, you will not be able to remember what the first set of wheels looked like.

In my case I will remember. The wheels I didn't want are the exact wheels on my C300, so they are indelibly etched into my brain cells.

The E will be a great upgrade from the C300! Also, it is a lot more tech than the F-Pace.

Nice rims and both are prone to sidewall and rim damages easily. Its matter of choice (style and cost). I have had them on my past two MB's (CLS and E400"s). Good luck with your new car.
Yes, it was kind of an interesting "phenomena" when I first experienced the car pulling into the lane mysteriously. I'm curious, do you also have the "Parking Assist" package, and if so, what has been your experience with it. We have it on our new vehicle that we just picked up, but have been a bit too intimidated yet to try it since there is really no way to practice using it except if parking between 2 cars. We are strong believers in the safety features over the cosmetic features, even though to us leather seats was a must have.

Yes, we do have Parking Assist and have never used it even though we have had occasions to use it. I am "afraid" to damage my rims and tire :-) Our 2018 E400 Cabriolet has P3 which basically has all the electronic toys. Some I use, others have not been applied. I have used the Autonomous drive feature available with Distronic-Plus. Its a scary feeling when you first use it, but its an awesome technology. It works about 95% of the time. I will not use it with my wife in the car. She does not trust the feature. The feature that I dislike totally (and I am still trying to figure it out) is when exiting the car with the engine on. Sometimes, it will shut it down and other times, it will not. Figure that out.

For 2019, Mercedes has simplified the option packages. Here's what I ordered:

E450 4Matic in Lunar Blue
Nut Bronw/Black Leather w/Natural Grain Brown Ash Trim
Driver Assistance Package
Parking Assistance Package
Premium Package (there is only one now as opposed to three)
Exterior Lighting w/Intelligent LED
AMG Line Exterior
18" AMG Wheels (I wanted the 19", but they strongly recommended I go with 18")
Heated and Ventilated Front Seats
Panoramic Roof
12.3" Digital Instrument Cluster
All this greatness comes in at MSRP = $72,580

Now the wait begins. I doubt I'll see the car before October at the earliest. But I'm pretty stoked at the moment!
I love the color combination with Lunar Blue and the saddle brown interior. You will have one beautiful 450! I went back and forth on the Lunar blue/saddl brown v. the Rubellite Red with black top and black nappa seats with red stitching. Currently my build is heading for Rubellite Red but I have a few weeks to production date to change.

Thanks. Saddle Brown is no longer an option for 2019, at least in the US. Nut Brown is a bit darker, but still beautiful. I'm not sure what Rubellite Red is, but I would guess it's what's called Cardinal Red on this side of the pond?

I have it on my 2017 E300. The surround view camera that comes with the package is worth the price of admission alone. But we have tried and tried to get that parking assist to "recognize" to valid parking spot. He picks driveways, and overlooks wide open perfect spots. You have to drive around at a snails pace for it to see a spot at all. And the dealer warned me- an obstruction that's low may not be seen but could damage the spoiler. In other words- I'm going to get this again only for surround view, and won't expect the parking assist to do much assisting.

Cardinal Red is color code 996
Rubellite Red is color code 660/3660

They are not the same shade of red.

Rubellite doesn't appear to be a color available to the US for 2019 E Sedans?

It might only be available on the AMGs. The AMGs definitely have options the E450s dont have.

But it isn't available for the sedans in plain clothes or AMG wear.

2019 e63s
I recently ordered an e63s with 20s and an e450 with 19s. I live in nyc and I’m coming from an Audi with 20s. Over 3 years I’ve needed to replace 3 tires due to potholes. two with significant bubbles and one blowout. While it’s an inconvenience of course, I still prefer the look of the larger wheel. Just Need to be careful. I will say, im Very happy with the continental dws06. I’ve hit some potholes where I thought for sure I’d have a bubble and I didn’t. They also replaced the blow out and one of the bubble tires for free since the tread was still above a certain threshold. Don’t have any rim damage. In all of my years driving here I’ve never ruined a rim and I’ve hit plenty old pothole so. I also have a light interior (lunar gray) and it’s not that hard to keep clean. Over time dark jeans will rub off on the driver seat but it comes off pretty easy. I never treated the seats with anything. Hope this helps!

How do you clean it? I find it hard to clean leather without chemicals, and chemicals give it an unnatural shine, and they're bad for you. Light-color leathers are hard to keep looking clean... It's even worse when you have ventilated seats because the perforations make it extremely hard to clean the leather.
