Door closing e300
I have been smacked a number of times as the detent to hold the door open is insufficient. Service told me he’s heard this and there’s no fix. Anyone else.

Check with your dealer about this: LI72.10-P-068218 JUN18 – 213 as of 4/16 up to/including 4/18 production, front doors can overrun detent points and close on uphill gradients, replace lower hinge.

Hey. I had the same issue in my 2017 E 300. Took it to the dealership last month. They ordered new hinges, sprayed it and installed for both front doors. All covered under warranty. It’s still not as good as I think it should be but it’s much better that it was before. Can’t tell you how frustrating it was getting out when parked in my driveway because of the slight slope. Got tired of backing in as well.

Hi All,
I did all of the above. Had the dealer change the hinges. Very nice job. Worked better, but not perfectly. Lower hinge broke on the drivers side 3 weeks later. Dealer replaced it with e300 part, not the replacement(quick fix) part. Back to same problem, except i'm more careful how i open the door, and before i exit the car.
