Non-US vs US headlights
US regulations do require separate high and low beams; therefore, we don't get to enjoy the Euro version of intelligent lighting, which is functionally always on high beam.
In the case of the E-class the thin amber turn signals are below the minimum size, so Mercedes just rejigged the larger-area brake lights and turned off the amber part completely.
These anachronistic regulations for head and taillights are infuriating, but like the decaying roads and bridges infrastructure of the country, no one cares enough to improve them.
A very informative and interesting article on amber and red lights, including the findings by NHTSA itself(!) that amber lights are safer, along with lack of any evidence that the minimum turn signal area requirement makes cars safer, is found here: https://www.acarplace.com/2018/01/index/
Is there any chance this will work on a MY2016 W212 with 640?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
here is a crappy photo of my W212 shading out the car in front:
Here is a video of how my car behaves now when I turn on the rear fog lamp (though this is not my car):
I was his guinea pig for W212 models and even so I did not encounter a single hiccup.
Do it, you will love it.

Received and installed Vladimirs' codes yesterday on my 2019 E450 4matic. Worked exactly as everyone has described. Tested it last night and it worked as it should. Now I can finally make use of the additional expense of the adaptive headlight system.
Thank you Vladimir, and thank you wagonsrock for your additional installation description you posted earlier. Installation was a breeze!

It works....it took a month for the module to make its way to me, but install went smoothly and everything works as promised, allowing the Multibeams to run on the Rest of World settings is a game changer......
(rant about US DOT and Sealed Beams)
Totally worth it and a mod that will add to your safety every night. Seller is responsive to inquiry.
