From 2012 E63 wagon to 2017 E400 wagon
I recently swapped into this wagon after 6 good years with my AMG no regrets : this is a more refined car. I did not like the stock grille so I put a grille from the E400 coupe on. What do you think ?

I'm looking at a 2012 E amg 63 wagon as a daily driver. I have not driven one( none for sale near me), but have driven at the 2018 E400 wagon and the 2018 Eamg 63s wagon. I'd be really interested if you'd care to compare them. How was maintenance with the 2012? I assume the new E400 is quite a bit softer. Do you miss the power, handling, of the 2012?

I think it looks fantastic. This would have been my choice when I ordered my 2018 E400 wagon if it was available. I ended up with the sports version, without the AMG styling options.
When its in sport or sport+ mode there's plenty of power for my needs. Surprisingly, coming from a 5-series N54 wagon which had much stronger driving characteristics, I'm currently mostly using comfort mode (I have air suspension). Most of the time I'm enjoying the 'isolated' luxury barge driving experience, but on freeway ramps the BMW was much better. I need to play with sports and sport+ mode more.

The new ride is a better car in most respects. My wife finds it much more comfortable and I agree although the firm ride of the E63 was never an issue for me it is somewhat harsh on rough roads. I miss the drama of the E63 but the new E400 makes up for it in other ways.
