Any windscreen washer recommend?

How important is using M-B branded fluid? Not much in my view. Washer fluid is not rocket science, therefore, brand is unimportant. Pick your poison.
In talking to the dealer service manager he advised me of a service bulletin stating not to use Rain X as it had a tendency to foul the reservoir guantity sensor. Additionally, he said the shop uses the same fluid one can buy at Wallmart.

I have never found one fluid better than another. I always buy the cheapest on sale - it is only windshield wiper fluid!

As John McEnroe often said "You've got to be kidding!"
Do you take you car to a car wash? I do and nothing has ever happened to my headlight lenses.
If you are truly concerned put a coat of wax or Rain-X on the headlight lenses. That will not only keep them clean but protect them!

due to unsuitable windshield washer fluid
Unsuitable windshield washer fluid may damage
the plastic surface of the exterior lighting.
# Only use windshield washer fluid that is
also suitable for plastic surfaces, e.g.
MB SummerFit or MB WinterFit.

The hazy is caused by oxidation and UV - not the type of washer fluid you use.
As I said put a coat of wax or Rain-X on your headlights - I do and they stay remarkable clean. I also do the rear tail lights as they are also plastic.
If you do have hazing problems, there are many products made to correct the problem:

Here is where I think we are:
- You are worried about crazing not hazing on your headlight assembly when windshield washer is use.
- You do not have windshield washers on you car
- Your Mercedes adviser recommends either MB SummerFit or MB WinterFit to prevent crazing or is it hazing on your headlights?
What did you think your Mercedes adviser would say: Save a lot of money and use Rain-X instead of the more expensive MB SummerFit or WinterFit that he sells?
As most of us do not have headlight washers it seems, at least to me, you have a solution (using the more expensive MB SummerFit or WinterFit) looking for a problem!

$15.88 for one liter for WinterFit
In answer to question of how much to use, the following was posted:
Is there any wonder the Mercedes service adviser recommended WinterFit!!!!!!!
see:

1 to 1 ratio of Winterfit gives protection to -20C which is -4 Fahrenheit
So to get protection to -25 Fahrenheit I think you would not dilute it. ( drive to Vermont skiing and need protection to -25F)
The site below has it for $8.64 plus shipping. Pretty expensive!
