Sunglasses holder stuck shut. Looking for suggestions.
2018 E 300 got the sunglasses stuck inside the sunglasses holder in the headliner. I tried pretty much everything prying it open and I cannot wedge anything inside because the inside plastic of the holder is blocking any access to the sunglasses to push them out the way.
Anyone have any suggestions or experience with someone similar and how to handle it without breaking the car? At this point I'm not concerned about the sunglasses.
This is how much I am able to open it until having to apply pressure to pull it down.

Since you can it open as far as your photo shows, have you maybe tried to use something firm but flexible to see if perhaps you can move the obstacle out of they enough to open it. This is precisely, btw., why I don't use the eyeglass holder in my car.

Remove overhead control panel without disconnecting electrical connectors to see if you can move content to free sun glass cover.

Finally got it opened. Took it in for service they actually took off the top liner and un clipped the stuck sunglasses from there. Luckily this was at a $0 cost. For once.

2020 ST keep having the same issue with the glasses getting stuck. Bounced that sucker till it finally opened and then the thing fell apart. I think it's defective, hoping to get it replaced free under warranty - I will find out in 2 days when I take it in
