6 weeks old and already a problem 😩

I’ve had my MY19 E450 Cab for six weeks and it’s already developed a problem.

Came out of the gym, started up and found the Electrical Fault warning indicator on. Auto stop/start doesnt function any more. Drove it to the dealer to see.

My first MB...hmmmm. Even my Ford Escape took two years before I had to take it in with a problem 😩.

We we will see....

Sorry to hear. Here I was laughing at the new Audi engine problems (B9 S4 has the EA839 engine going into the D5 A8) which is exhibiting the same symptoms your engine is. Oh well, woe is me.

Hopefully it's a simple fix. Let us know the outcome though.

My guess in your auxiliary battery has failed. Just a guess, but if it is the case it's not too uncommon from what I have read elsewhere on this forum. Hopefully you are back up and running properly in short order.

Dealer service loaned me a 2019 E300 while they looked at my car. They called me about 6 this evening and said something about both batteries are fine and one computer said a module that had to do with one battery reported as faulty but another computer said there was something else.

Then he said they re-loaded code or something on the module that was reported as faulty (some code he said they had to get Germany - whatever that meant). Anyway he said he is 99.9% it was just a code glitch and after they reloaded the code, it isn’t showing the warning light and the computer is no longer reporting a problem. He says they had started the car 22 times over a period of two hours and everything is normal.

He he wants to keep my car there over the weekend for it to sit unused and check the first part of Monday before returning it to me. Wants to make sure it’s nothing that will come back if it sits for a while.

So, I’ll drive the loaner... except that the loaner has the logo projectors... damn... now I wish I had added those to my car when I bought it 😬

Sorry for the less than accurate description... he called me while I was driving. When I get the car back I’ll give a more accurate description

I'm glad it's nothing more than a programming issue, which does happen on occasion. To your wish for the logo projectors, sorry, but for me, it's Meh. The E300 which is going bye bye in just a few short days has them and I still think they're kind of a goofy expense that is only visible when the doors are open and bring more attention to you with the honking huge Mercedes logo projected on the floor. I guess if there's a puddle when you open your car door, it could have some minor benefit??? The other thing I have in the E300, which I'm glad to not be getting in the E450 is the Trunk Convenience bin-thingy. I never use it, but it takes up valuable space for other things I could put in my trunk.

honestly, that was my feeling when I didn’t order them on my cab. Thought a bit too much “look at me”. I almost removed the lighted door sills for the same reason, but they look great... glad I kept them

I wish I had both options on my car. Luckily, both are easily added after the fact. This hiccup is a bummer, don't let it get in the way of enjoying that awesome Cab!
