I think I know what you are referring to. We are typically used to 'gapless' recording playback in most modern mp3 players. An example of this would be a long continuous suite of songs like "Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon" (yeah, I'm old too!). On a reasonably decent music playback system they seem to blend into one another. COMAND, being primitive and stupid, does not support gapless playback. It just sees these as seven separate songs and plays them independently. That 'gap' I think you are referring to is the abrupt change between tracks that we are not used to hearing. To me it sounds like one sound is ending very abruptly as if it's cut off, there is a silent pause, then the cutoff part of the previous track is stuck onto the front of the next song.
As an added bonus, those particular seven songs are not played in the right order if the album is selected in Artist mode.
To my knowledge you can't 'fix' the lack of gapless playback in the MB.
