Yes, it's a feature in the Mercedes Me App, pre-2019 and the Mercedes Me Connect app for the 2019 model year.

Have a Apr 2017 AMG edition with Comand and Me app. Can unlock, lock etc. But no start

Where are you located? Even our 2016 C300 and 2016 GLC300 had remote start via the Mercedes Me app. And our 2018 E400 also has the feature via the same app.

Sorry, maybe someone else in the UK can chime in or you can call your dealer or MBUK for guidance. I am iPhone, but really imagine the app would have the same functionality on Android as iOS?
