MB battery

Hi to all!
Do I have to replace the battery with the genuine MB Varta part or I can put any battery with the same specification like 12V, 80AH, 800A?
I found my battery completely dead, put it on slow charge but no luck at all, it does not take a charge. thanks

As long as it's an AGM battery with matching specifications it should be fine.

Varta is a Johnson Controls battery. Lots of aftermarket batteries at Advance Auto and Autozone are also Johnson Controls. Pepboys sells a couple, the Champion is Johnson Controls and the Bosh is Exide. Advance Auto has a 25% off coupon code on retailmenot and Autozone has 20%.

Or you you can just go to the MB dealer and use the $150 coupon below. Someone mentioned it was just $340 at their dealer to get it installed so it might be worth the slightly higher cost to get some free snacks and a car wash. Some dealers charge more though.

.
How old is the car? Shouldn't there be some battery warranty coverage?

Oh yeah, if it's still under the original factory warranty of 4 years/50k it should be covered.

I had the battery replaced under warranty at the 1 year mark. The auto stop/start no longer worked due to weak battery.

the car is 1 year old but I bought from the salvage auction so won't

try dealer before I repair it cos its big chance to loose the warranty.
anyway, I bought brand new battery with the same spec for 50 quid last night, battery made for Ford but who care... 3 month old.

my W212 got AUX battery for START/STOP option under the dash board, driver side knee area, which replaced recently under warranty, don't know if W213 got the same system.
