Hello all I took my car in for her first service it went smooth got a loaner took about 2.5 hrs. my question, they didn't do any updates on the software? is that normal? still love the car and no noises or anything. the loaner had 3k on it and the dash made noises.. I found the other post that talks about this thanks

Did you ask for software updates? My experience has been that you need to remind them to check for an perform updates.

Probably never helps to be nice to the dealer.
Since I have had such a difficult time trying to get music to play in the correct order (for FLAC and AAC files), I'm going to tell them ahead of time "This is the problem, give me a loaner and don't call me back until you have this fixed or have a detailed explanation from Mercedes Benz why it does this and how it will be fixed."
'Customer support' just sends back emails saying you have to get help from your dealer, they have resources. The dealer says 'use a different USB drive' (which isn't a solution). I figure once I have the car in for service and have their loaner they might get serious, but not until then.
It's too bad MB sets up an adversarial relationship between the company and the buyer. But if that's the game, so be it.

My dealer updated the software on my 2018 E400 Coupe — but I did ask if one was available. The service adviser said there was an update but cautioned me that it would take about an additional hour to install it. Having nothing better to do that morning, I sat in the waiting room, drank coffee, ate donuts, and bought a nice tie from the nicely stocked parts and accessories department.

Just got an email confirming my first A service for Thursday, Feb 13.
It says: Requested Services
  • A service per flexible service system
  • Navi update
  • 2018010008 to be done
A 2018 Konigstiger post says 2018010008 refers to "digital owner's manual may not meet production specs" (Yawn).

I'll report back afterward.

UPDATE: 2/14/19
Just retrieved my car after having first service at 14 months, 7100 miles.
Both Navi and COMAND were updated to ver. 14.0 and ver. 3.76.00.10 respectively. All user data from previuos versions was lost.
