I have been looking for the past 2 months to have someone retrofit the fully digital instrument cluster into my 2017 E300 W213 i am located in the US specifically in New York... i have went to dealers and aftermarket places and everyone is scared to do it ... if anybody knows who would be willing please let me know ASAP

As a standalone option, you are correct, it only became so for the 2019 model year. For 2017/2018 to get the digital instrument cluster, one would have to have gotten the P3 Package.
I am shopping for used 2017 mercedes e300 too. Did you find any 2017 e300 with digital instrument cluster at all? I didn't find any. The only 2017 e-classes that have one are with higher trim (e400, amg models). I believe that mercedes offered digital instrument cluster as a stand alone option only from 2019 model year.
I have 2016/17 W213 E220D with the digital cluster.
It has been changed under the warranty (smoky effect in the corners). Only the screen was £3700.
The screen I have now has a different set up of all the icons, fuel etc. to the original screen, so I presume that there was an upgrade in 2019.
Any recommendations on shops or dealers who would perform this LCD cluster retrofit in the Los Angeles area? I have a 2017 E300 that I am planning on upgrading to a full LCD cluster. Thanks for any help.
I don't believe my 2017 can accommodate a touchscreen version because my car didn't come with the newer UMBX operating system/ interface. If your car came with that system, then yes I think you should be ok with a touch screen LCD panel. BTW, I thought ALL 2020 E450s already came with an all LCD version. Yours still has the analogue half?
oh ok. Well maybe if I can find one soon enough, I can sell you my cluster. If your interested....its flawless. car has only 3,493 miles.
Yes you are correct, mine has full LCD (no analogue) but not touch, and not the newer refreshed graphics. Im just having trouble finding the details of whats needed.... everywhere I see the LCD cluster for sale, it never says whether its touch or not.
I would be very interested with your cluster. However, I'm still figuring out a way around the mileage/ digital odometer count with used or non virgin LCD panels. Apparently, once you install another LCD panel that's been used in other vehicles, the digital odometer count will stop working. But in any case, how much would you let go of your cluster?

Unfortunately not, I am in New Jersey. I have my own diagnostic tool that I have all my coding done remotely. Check out BenzNinja. They advertise on this forum. You can rent from them and have work done remotely
