Is B63 soun over speaker still a thing?

Hi

I recently took delivery of my 2019 e200. I have been very happy, but I stumbled upon something about the engine noise being redirected into the cabin and that this can be disabled by installing some e43 part, is this true? My car is to new and is not on the mb database, but other similar cars seem to not have that option when searching for the vin number. So does new cars still have this and can it be disabled? I bought a gasoline driven E-class specifically for less engine noise than a diesel, so I would rather not have the car actively try to be more noisy.

The option is B63. If you have it, it will be on the data card for the VIN. It is part of an audio amplifies in the trunk. I have no idea if that "feature" is still being installed. There was lots of negative feedback about it. My early 2018 E300 data card said I had B63, but the MB service manager physically checked the car and couldn't find it.

There is a thread on the forum with part numbers with and without the B63 "feature".

If you haven't seen it promoted on the MB website and you don't see it on the DOG, then you don't have it.

Try entering your VIN at this site. Looking for B63-Engine Noise Over Speaker.

I did but my car is too new to be found on the database, will do that in a while when it is there. But thanks for the input everyone!

I have a mid-2018 and it definitely has it. The easiest way to see if you have it is to find a parking garage or narrow alleyway. Roll the driver's window down. Put the transmission into Eco mode. Drive a bit. Flip it into Sport+ and drive the same way. You'll notice the extra synthetic bass notes coming from inside the cabin rather than window. I normally keep my car in Eco, so fortunately the system is off or minimal in that setting.
