Anyone successfully unplugged the Chime?

Drives me nuts. Would love some silence. Could it be as simple as just pulling out a connector plug?

Funny you ask...I just posed that question at the dealership this morning. I was told no.

I don't see the need for it--is it to tell me the door I just opened is open?

And with the adaptive. Cruise it is constantly dinging. I’d be fine with just the visual telling me to touch the steering wheel at 1 min intervals.

Yes first warning is visual. I dunno I guess its probably not a good idea to change things around, it could save lives if the driver was drowsy and had adaptive cruise engaged and also help alert the driver of other events and messages. It just gets really annoying listening to the thing all the time, I'm in the wagon a lot. To bad there is no way to change it's volume and pitch like there is with the alert for the LIM.

Actually, I was driving the car this morning and noticed that the ACC kept dinging right from the go, rather than the second warning. It had not done that before. It's annoying because it lowers the radio volume (and podcast volume) when it goes off. Is this the result of an over the air update? Or, once it is triggered once, does it then always ding thereafter. Using the example above:

1st warning: visual
2nd warning: ding
all subsequent warnings: ding....even if you had moved the steering wheel after the 2nd warning

That’s what I really hate is how it mutes the music. You feel like punching the car.

AFAIK That is a settable feature that can be turned off in the sound settings menu. I know it works for navigation. I've never heard a ding except when entering/exiting the vehicle.
