I was wondering whether the few designo options in the US DOG (colors and leather) are the same as designo Manufaktur. Supposedly designo Manufaktur is much more: "With designo Manfaktur, we help fulfill our customers´ most individual wishes in an exclusive workshop where artisans embrace high-quality, small-scale production to achieve a specific vision. It allows customers to take personalization one step further and choose from unique paint colors, including historic Mercedes-Benz tones or colors from a different model line."

 

Designo Manufaktur is totally different in that you can customize your paint color and interiors to just about whatever you want. It takes customization to a much grander scale than the few offered on the DOG. It's a separate division that works in conjunction with you and your dealership. It takes about 12 weeks longer to custom order and design and of course, is quite pricey.

The only difference between the Designo you order on your DOG, is that those interiors and colors are readily available when you car is manufactured.

In short, yes. 12 additional weeks on top of your build time from what I understand.

 

Wondering whether there is any information available even if it is for a past model year. Perhaps possible exterior colors and associated cost. Why does MB advertise designo Manufaktur and then it is impossible to get any information from them?
