Since the E-Class forum seems like has the most activity on this forum i think is the right place to start this discussion. If Admin has a different opinion...i'm ok to be re-located.
Good info. Pricing for paint is lower that I heard before ($12-13k for any current of heritage color.) Biggest challenge seems to be finding a sales guy that has the knowledge of how this works and willingness to put in the extra effort.
Just to add one data point for paint time for those curious...
My build slot originally had a first-decade September build date. The pre-approved and "in-use" paint I chose added approximately 7-8 weeks, with a final build date of October, 25.
A truly custom color, or a historic color not recently used on any Designo Manufaktur order, I was told, could add up to 12 weeks to the build date. I wish I had the stones and patience to wait for Bornite Metallic .

Hi everyone - I just joined this forum. I managed to find a configurable allocation for a 2021 E63s Wagon and have ordered both designo paint and a designo interior because the standard option Nut Brown was not configurable (not sure how that's possible when there are only 3 interior color options, but anyway...). Olive Metallic exterior and Auburn Brown interior should be inbound late summer. I was quoted an additional 12-15 weeks from second week of May production, so that puts it into late August for completion. I've been told it's very hard to predict and could be longer, but I'm fired up nonetheless!
Amazing! My DM paint came through a little quicker than I expected, but I did not opt for any interior customization. Olive Metallic is going to be sweet.

Arabian Grey. I think it helped that the color was sprayed on a few w213 before mine...hopefully you get the same fast track due to the fact that MB is familiar with the color via G class. Are you in the USA? If so, and you haven't reached out to Paul who runs the US designo program, DM me for his info.
Sick! That looks so hot, congrats! I am in the US and I did manage to track down Paul on my own when it seemed like my dealer was in the dark on what was happening process wise. In the end, we got it all confirmed. I think it’s the designo interior that’s the big timing variable...

this is exactly the combo I am considering too for a 21wagon! What was the price you were quoted for the paint if you don’t mind me asking?
