Air conditioning
I bought my first ever Mercedes last June of 2018, a used 2017 W213 E300 4matic, an executive demo model. The AC worked wonderful last summer. We had our first really hot day here yesterday (92 F), and it took at least 6 minutes to get to a comfortable temperature in my car. It seems to me it was working better last summer. I was wondering how long it took some of you to get your W213 to a comfortable temperature with the AC.

My E300 w/acoustic comfort package only takes a couple of minutes to cool the interior. Temps and humidity ave been in the 90's for a couple of months. I typically remote start the vehicle to cool it down before entering.

My 2017 E300 takes forever to cool down on a hot day. Today was over 90 degrees, and when I came out of the office, the car was an oven, which it remained for most of the 30 minute drive home. I don't think the AC capacity is adequate for the car - and the dealer says the AC is working as designed.

If I can't pre-cool the car I always open the sunroof and windows for a minute or two while moving to circulate the air. Then I close the car and set the air on recirculate. It never takes longer than 5 minutes to cool to comfortable levels.

Good one.
The AC in all my MBs has worked great. The only thing I ever noticed was that my GLE400 revved up the motor more when it was really hot. But I do think some of these smaller motors now a days have more trouble trying to keep the AC running and cooling everything well enough.

Living in sultry, steamy Florida, the A/C in our E400 and E450 cools the car in just a couple minutes and stays comfortable through long and short journeys. I see nothing inadequate with the cooling system.

My E450 is Lunar Blue (dark), with brown leather (pretty dark) and even if started after sitting in the sun for hours, it cools quickly. I've never felt MB A/C wasn't a strong suit, tbh.

You guys are convincing me that I need to hit the dealer and have mine checked - it's barely cool after a half hour of running at full blast...

Compared to my previous Audi, the MB air con is slightly weaker but certainly not an issue.
If you car is not new, make sure you have all your filter(s) checked as dirty filters will lower the performance of the air con. Even a 5 to 10% loss in air flow will result in much less cooling.

Same here, prior to all my other MBs my E300 does not really have a strong AC unit. Not sure if its the temperature or the power of it but I gotta get it to fan speed 6 or 7 to get things going. I think there was another post about this as well.

For my part, the air conditioning works reasonably well. However, what peeves me is that the temperature always needs to be adjusted. In the older model, I would put the car on 72 F and Auto and it would just always take me to that temp. Now, I have to move the temp setting around a lot in order to get comfortable.

Let's all be thankful too that we don't have the BMW G30 A/C. (Go read those reviews)

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I'll never forget my old Cadillacs with the R12 Freon A/C systems, those would cool down in 30 seconds or so, but I'd say the Benz is adequate, not great, but like 5 or 6 minutes to cool down on a hot day.

Now that the season has changed, I tend to use my A/C more frequently. I dread using it as the smell from the cabin filters makes me extremely nauseous. I contacted my service advisor and she advised me to allow the A/C to run a little to negate the strength of the fumes. Unfortunately, that didn't work and each time that I cut on the A/C that smell has me gagging.

Does anyone notice a foul odor embedded with the air that comes though the vents. I have mentioned this to the dealer and they advised to leave the AC running a little while after I reach home.
I haven't tried that, but don't believe that's the issue. Not to mention I am on my third Benz and all of them have possessed this same odor coming from the AC.

Hello everybody! To be honest, it seems to me that you have not fully understood the principles of the car's climate system. All parts have a habit of wearing out and the air duct is also directly related to this. Therefore, the climate system filters must be changed at least once a year. Otherwise, a lot of dirt gets clogged in them and they hardly let air into the car. If you do not change the filters on time, then sooner or later you will have to turn to the repair and cleaning of the air ducts. I hope I helped you with information and you draw the appropriate conclusions. Good luck to you!
