What’s so crazy about it? I got $8k off a new 18 E400 coupe in Nov 2017.

Not a crazy deal at all....A fool would have to think they are getting a “crazy” deal on this.

I think this is the most expensive build on an E yet. I didn’t even know they can get in the mid 80’s.

84.5k MSRP is in CLS pricing range

OP- you do realize your on a forum with very knowledgeable MB folks. I don’t think this is good platform to do sales. You should stick to a sales platform....cars.com etc

coincidentally we’ve sold about 75 cars on MBWORLD in the last two years and also helped the community out with many different things from tracking orders and providing guides to doing courtesy deliveries and reaching out to corporate for customers (warranty refunds, AMG Driving Acadamy Extensions).

In the future I will watch my adjectives to make you more comfortable.

Thanks!

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
For someone that is looking for a fully loaded wagon that is not a bad deal, these are hard to find with all these options like the multi contour seats, digital instrument panel and Air Suspension. I wish my car had the Multicontour seats. My car new listed for 78K and I got it for 70K but I did a lot of looking and couldn't find one with the multi contour seats. Just adding, ya, your good guys there. I think I remember talking to you, do you still have your E350 Wagon? Ya, not a bad deal. I would have bought that car had I not bought my white one last Nov. Probably too late and not worth it for me to do a trade, I'm up to 12.5 K miles already. Great cars, mine has worked out very well.

2019 E450 Wagon
This is spec’d very close to one I ordered and have only had a couple months now. Had this been available when I ordered mine, I would have jumped on it. With that 10k discount it’s less than I paid for my much less well equipped 2018 e400 wagon I bought last year.

I dont mean any disrespect about pricing as we all know pricing is subjective and negotiable, but wagon or not, people are getting around 8 thousand off E classes. When I special ordered mine in September of 2016 when the E class was just coming out, I was able to get 7 thousand off. This car, even though its never been titled, has quite a bit of mileage for a demo. Id think 10K off the MSRP is a starting point.

I understand. I see less coupes (they only have 1) for sale at MB Naples than I do Cabriolet’s. Still don’t think it’s that great of a deal with that mileage. But, I do wish you success in selling it.

That mileage is a major drawback. My E300 is almost 2 years old with about the same mileage.

I’m not sure about this deal (never priced a wagon) but the OP offered me a pretty good deal when I was trying to purchase my last MB. But unfortunately it was just a little to far to drive and someone closer got very close to the deal. I’ll definitely call him again when I go looking to upgrade my GLE. They seem very easy to work with. Why not call them and try to work a deal instead of bashing them. They have to start somewhere.

Agree. Plus like I said a fully loaded non order wagon is tough to find and they are a good dealer.

We nearly pulled the trigger on a E450 wagon a couple months ago. Loaded, it stickered at $90K. After much discussion decided to go with a 2020 E63 wagon instead. Probably order that early this fall.

I got 12k on my car and the car was just released back in 2017. This cars math checks out, 8k in discount and another 2k in discount due to mileage on the car. 7k miles X.25 a mile=2k +8k=10k off. Nothing special...who knows what that car smells like or what issues it has. bent rims, discs wrapped, bad tires....Not worth it!

A gaggle of MB's
I "assume" this is a Mercedes "Brass Hat" - Mercedes Executive Demo (or Engineering Demo) driven under Manufacturer Plates - 12% Discount is strong/appropriate .

If I had brought this Wagon into my "MB Barn" - I would have chosen $8K off and include added Extended New Car Warranty to 5Yr/75K ($2,200).

New Car Warranty starts with In-Service date - not title date - so having the added warranty on a Brass Hat is a better value to my customers.

"Good Dealers" think and communicate this kindof stuff upfront - there are other dealers that keep these cards closer to their chest - so they have opportunity to charge MSRP+ on added warranty - and opportunity to charge MSRP+ on Prepaid Maintenance - etc. etc. etc...

Some say TomAto - some say Tomato..

Nobody is really bashing, we are just voicing opinions. But it makes it really hard to sympathize when you call it a "crazy" deal.

I am in the market for a wagon, based on opinions from forum members this doesnt look to be that great of a deal... where does this need to be?

Slightly off topic, there is a 120msrp 19 e63 at my local dealer, what should i be looking at as far as discounts on that... I know these are special ordered so maybe someone cancelled?

Im in between the 450 and amg

Definitely not a CRAZY Deal. $10K off sticker on a $84K car via 7609 miles on it. No thanks. If the car has no mileage on it. It would only consider an average deal due to the options on this car (too high).

Probably $15k-$20k off msrp will move this vehicle. I noticed many automotive industry like use the term "Executive demo" and make it sounds like it's equivalent to new.

I’m definitely not an expert. Many others here have bought and sold many more cars, but what I gathered reading here and a few other places is that except for a few very competitive markets, special arrangements, or long term relationships, many MB dealers don’t come very far off of MSRP for E-class, particularly wagons, or those that are very well optioned. A number of posters seemed to indicate 5% off MSRP is as far as they could get. My memory isn’t the greatest, but I think I remember some posters reporting this in Dallas and Phoenix. Members in Florida, NYC, and some California markets have reported greater discounts.

My specific experience was purchasing a 2018 E400 wagon in August 2018 and a 2019 E450 wagon in March 2019. The E400 was the closest new wagon to me in the country at about 70 miles as the crow flies. I went and did a test drive because I hadn’t driven one yet. That sold me on the choice, but I didn’t want that specific car. It didn’t have all the options I wanted, but it did have some that I didn’t find a lot of in the national searches, like air body control (ABC). The dealer said they didn’t have much customer interest in the car, so they hounded me for 6 weeks. I was resigning myself to the realization I may have to order what i wanted, but they made me an offer that I thought would overcome the lack of some features. I had a W212 trade-in, which the dealer used to fudge numbers around in valuation, but I think I got about a $4000 discount on the wagon ($77k MSRP). In December 2018 I ordered a 2019 E450 wagon that I picked up in March 2019. I couldn’t get more than $2000 off the $89k MSRP. I didn’t do European delivery because I didn’t think I could do a second trip to Europe just a month after the first one, but had I done this again I would have done that. The 7% off from Mercedes goes much further on such an expensive car. And if you talk to the right dealer I hear you may be able to negotiate down a bit more.

Good luck with the search. I’m still in the honeymoon phase with mine. I love my wagon.

Thank you so much for the write up, very thorough and much appreciated. ive tested a few cars local to me, one with about 200 miles with a really healthy discount, im in the NY area and dealers have these cars sitting on lots so im not rushing to get one right away, baby is due in a month and wont need the car until after

Only MBs - the best or nothing
Even though the vehicle is sold as "new", in fact it is used. If any of us wanted to trade such a loaded vehicle in today, any dealer would give very little for "extra" options, because it is hard to find someone requiring all those options. In fact the trade-in value would be not more than $60K. So "crazy" deal would be somewhere in between trade-in and asked in post #1 price or $65-67K range. IMHO.

Update: just traded-in my '19 loaded with all most desirable options W213 E450 (MSRP exactly $80K) with only 2K miles for only $57K. Based on this, the loaded S213 in post #1, but with 7K miles would trade in at $60-61K. Like I said above, $65-67K is very a good deal. At $74K, they're looking for a not particularly intelligent buyer. Do not thinks there are any here. BTW, goodby W213 board, after 9 Es, I think I've moved on for good.

Just my $.02:

Many, many years ago I leased a similar car: It was a Porsche Boxster driven by a national rep of Porsche. The car was never titled and my warranty ran from my date of lease, so I had the same warranty as a brand new Boxster. I believe it had about 8,500 miles.

Keep in mind that even though you have the warranty, the wear and tire items, tires, brakes, etc. are not covered by the warranty.

For me to do this deal, the dealer had to substantially discount the car. If I remember correctly it was between 15% and 20% of MSRP.

As I previously posted, on my 2019 E450, MSRP $72,000 my cost was below $64,000, a discount of $8,000 almost 12%. I live in the NYC area where there are over 20 MB dealers within 60 miles so prices here are extremely competitive.

With regards to this particular car, I do not know if a wagon sells for less or more of a discount than my E450 Sedan. What I can tell you, is that on resale, options add very little to the value of the car. In other words, a standard non loaded E450 wagon that has a MSRP of $75,000 vs. a loaded one with a MSRP of $85,000, the resale value after 5 years may be as little as $2,500. As a percentage the loaded call will depreciate more than a standard car.

The only way to protect yourself is to lease where the residual (percentage) will be the same.

For a loaner car with over 7K miles, that's NOT even close to a good deal. Many of us did better with new off the lot or specially ordered cars. I certainly did. I suspect you don't have a clue how knowledgeable we are on this forum.
