2017 E300 CPO - Does Production Month Matter?

Hi, all. I'm new to the board and in the market for a CPO E300, likely a 2017 since there are so many coming off lease right now (and those fit the budget nicely). My question is whether you guys think the month of production matters in terms of bugs/glitches/mechanical issues for the first year of a new model. I am currently going through a buyback process with BMW on an early production unit of the then-new 2017 X5 (long story). Is there any reason to think that a car that has an April 2016 manufacture date on the door plate has a higher chance of having early product line issues than one that came off the line in August 2016? Or does a few months not make a difference anyway? There are two particular cars I'm looking at and they are similar, but the April version has an option or two that the August version lacks. Just curious if I'm overthinking all of this or whether this is a valid concern. Would be especially curious to hear from any of you that took delivery of a 2017 E class in the early summer of 2016. A little gun shy after my BMW experience. Thanks in advance for any opinions/advice.

If the cars are functioning fine at this point the small bugs that might have occured have probably been worked out at the dealer during the cars time on the road. Test drive and if the cars feel the same well there is your answer.

Keep in mind your CPO also has an additional year of factory warranty.

You have a CPO so you are also covered. My 2017 was produced in February 2017 which I understand is a much later production date, but I have had very little minor issues, which were also resolved.

They are very nice cars and I am pretty sure you would not regret having one. I have only owned 2 cars longer than 3 years in over 30 years and that was in the late 80’s early 90’s. I however instead to hold on to this one

My car in a fully loaded P3 car with just about every option except for heated steering wheel and airmatic. Had I ordered the car it would have had them. I received an unresistible deal so I purchased one off the lot. Good luck on your decision and welcome to the MB family

Agree with what others said - I have a June 2016 production date, and other than an issue on delivery, I have not had anything major happen. My COMAND system could use the software update, but I am too lazy to schedule it, so that is on me. You'll really enjoy a 2017 CPO - mine is barely broken in with 16,000 miles on it and looks/drives like new. I am considering a 2018 or 2019 CPO instead of new next time...
