My new E450 wagon - Super fun ride
So this is my 8th straight E Class from the last 14 years. This is by far the most fun one of them all. Just tinted the windows and put on my wheels from the 17 E300. Going to rebadge and vinyl the chrome crossbar on the back and plasridip the Star - not sure what to do with the grill. It is the night package so most of it blacked out but the Chrome really sticks out - will definitely Vinal the surround. I want to put on the Gt Panamerica grill in gloss - but would have to reprogram the from camera - don’t want all the drama on that. What do you guys think?

Did you go with the matte wood trim on purpose? Considering you are going all black and white on the outside i figure you wouldn't have gone with the wood trim?
Was it the only wagon around? I know there isn't too many out there.

So I'm in SoCal - and close to almost 20 dealers all within about 40-50 miles from each other - and almost all the wagons are black or white and a couple of red ones - almost none with black night package- most dealers would not work numbers on the wagon - I originally had a deal worked out with a dealer on black one over email and phone - when i arrived they had the black one ready and I walked up to look at it and this one was next to it. Night and day difference. The black one was black on black with black wood - was not thrilled to have black but that's all they had at the time and it was one of the only dealers working on the numbers. Long story short - once I looked into this one with that rare interior I was hooked - salesman was not happy because he had to rework the deal as the white was a couple grand more. I really wanted the selenite grey and the only 2 in the whole region was either stock and the other was close to $87k. - I love this interior color with this wood. The matte raw wood look is so cool. My other e had the black matte wood. Not a big fan of the polished or high gloss wood.

That car looks similar to my white wagon except you've got the black wheels. Think those are the same wheels I have on my wagon except mine are the polished face cut steel, almost look chrome. These are fun cars to drive especially in Sport Plus mode yet you can put it into Eco mode and I get over 30 mpg highway. The handling with the Michelin Primacy tires seems really good to and I like the sound of the engine when it revs, does really feel like a sports car sometimes when I drive it hard.

The wheels are the Gianelle Verde - 20x10.5 in the back and 20x9.5 in the front -not sure of the offset - they only sell one offset for the 5 x 112 Mercedes set up. I run 275 or 285 /35/20 on back and 245/35/20 on the fronts and works great.

FYI: 245/35 front and 285/30 rear have identical diameter and sidewall. So if fronts are good how can rears be "too thin"? Does not make sense.

What do you mean by tolerance on 4 magic - I’m only asking because my last E was not 4 magic - what kind of issues can I see running 35 on the rear? Just asking because I don’t know - thanks

Ok did some research and I get it now for 4 Matic. So if I keep my 245/35/20 up front and go switch out rears to 275/30/20 - should be fine right? Do you think 300 miles on the my current set up caused any damage? Thanks for the help

MB 4matics must have identical (or close to identical, hence 1% or .3" front/rear diameter difference max or "tolerance") front and rear diameters. Once front/rear on 4matic is out of tolerance, it (rear diameter much greater than front or vise versa) will kill (with time) your transmission/transfer case and MB will not cover it. So if and when it happens and you're still under warranty (most likely as it will not take very long) make sure to bring the car in with the originals (maybe they won't figure out the cause of the transfer case failure).

Honestly I do not know. I am surprised car did not "complain" yet. If you are using non run flats, I would use 285/30 as it satisfies your requirements better, however if you're using run flats then you have almost no choice but to stay with 275/30.
