Bluetooth Audio Lag
Hello Everyone,
I would like to know if anyone has found a solution to the issue of Bluetooth audio lag. For example, when watching a video on YouTube, the audio is delayed and does not sync with the video. As you are aware, there is no hardwire solution like 3.5mm aux input on the w213. The strange thing is that when I connect my mac book to watch videos the audio is fine. I have tried several different models of phones from ios to android and they all have the same issue... (before anyone gets excited, I am not watching videos whilst driving, I am a chauffeur and spend a long time sitting and waiting for clients)...

The lag is endemic to all Bluetooth audio codecs and transmission systems that are not AptX low-latency. Most devices do not support AptX-LL, which is still a rarely-implemented standard. I'm guessing that the MB Bluetooth stack supports Bluetooth SBC audio. Android devices, and probably your mac, are able to foresee that you're on a Bluetooth connection with a certain latency. They then de-sync the audio and video so that it'll play correctly. On my Galaxy S10, this often works very well with BT headphones, but in some cases it doesn't, or it "forgets" when I'm using non AptX-LL headphones. There is no known workaround other than your device understanding that latency needs to be factored in during video playback.
