Rattle in driver's side dash
Has anybody solved the issue of a slight rattle over bumps coming from the top of the dash on the driver's side? I only have 679 miles on the car, but it has developed a subtle, but persistent rattle over bumps. It is coming from the dash top or just below it. I have pressed on every external part in the vicinity, but it is still there. I hate the thought of: 1) the dealer tearing apart my dash, or 2) getting the "no problem found" after wasting half a day getting over to dealer and back.
Thoughts? Painful, because my 2017 E300 didn't make a sound, even after 3 years.

I’m the OP from that thread and still no luck on solving it. I will be taking my car in for Service A in a couple of weeks and hopefully it can be recreated. It’s just subtle enough that it drives me insane and yet is probably hard to hear for a technician. Let’s keep each other updated either way. I will post to these threads when I go in.

Yes, will do - frustrating that you still have the rattle... because little things like that drive me crazy. Will let you know what dealer says...

I had the same issue over a year ago. Dealer claimed there was a fix that MB suggested. They ended up removing the metal grid from the top of the dash, and from what I was told, glued felt underneath certain parts of the grid that are vibrating and creating the rattle sound.
For me, it sounded like a loose screw.
Once I placed some pressure on the top of the grid, the rattle stopped.
As corny as it sounds, it has worked. Haven't had that issue since.
Now.....really hot days....and you hit the AC when the car starts, those vents push out fumes from the glue they used.
Obviously, no charge for this.
