Hundens

I am more than willing to admit that there are more features on the E 450 wagon that I do not understand and then there are features that I do. However, every time I get into the automobile I am flummoxed by the design of the holding compartments in the doors. They are different so there must be some giant German scheme involved. Any ideas?

Designed that way simply to leave us wanting more. aka the best or nothing!

Almost looks like a cupholder in there, but alas, it's not...

Actually it is a cup holder that works well for small beverage cans, etc. It is not attached and can be removed by pulling it straight up.

No. We/I are speaking about the molded bottom sections of driver and front passenger door panels. The drivers side almost looks like it could hold some unknown kind of beverage, but the passenger side has a shape that looks like a slide. They are both designed with such specificity that they were obviously meant for some purpose. But what?

Provide images. The "inserts" in my '18 E300 are easily removable leaving a storage area that fits umbrellas, etc.

Reviews indicate room/space for 1 liter bottles. We use similar openings in our Acura for bottles and short folding umbrellas.
