Is this Fixable? (Aftermarket CLS LED VENTS)

Hey guys!

I recently got these vents for my E class but I noticed they aren’t following the correct color pattern when multicolor is enabled. I have attached photos. Green checkmark is OEM, Red X is from CKM Car design. The vents SHOULD be the same color as the display.

they’re plug & play from CKM Car Design.

I was wondering if it’s fixable via Xentry/Star Diagnostic. If it is, how? (I have them both)

How are they connected?
Through some kind of control box or just daisychained?

they’re hooked up via a little control unit that came in the box, they’re then hooked up somewhere in the centre console I believe.

My shop foreman at the dealership is gonna attempt to fix it using Star Diagnosis/Xentry but he’s unsure if it’ll be doable as it’s aftermarket.

this is the guide he followed for installation as well as parts of WIS.

Thanks for your reply btw

Hard to say, but you most likely cannot do anything through Xentry.
The RGB LED connectors have one wire for each color, It could be a wire that has been misplaced in a connector, blue in red or the other way around.

That’s what I’m saying. But then again is there anyway to plug it in through the display instead?

cause that’s the lighting pattern I want it to follow.

There is a LED to the left of the steering wheel and another one for the glove compartment strip, there is also strips above and under the multimedia display.
You should be able to tap into those if you dont place them all on one LED feed.

Gotcha, I’ll let him know that.

Do you think it’s possible to do all that without using the module?

My goal is to essentially either tap it into the display’s ambient lighting or to be able to program it via xentry which I’m assuming the control module would disable me from doing.

I wish things weren’t so complicated.

Any other tips I should throw at him before handing my vehicle in tomorrow?

And those are simply just plug in spots right?
