Wagons- liner question

There is a strip of Velcro- just the loop side at the rear of the mat in my cargo area. On each side.

what is this for? The Matt already is already non slip on one side and carpet on the other, which seems as non slip as the loop. There is no corresponding hook or loop fabric on the floor of the cargo area.

are there accessories that use it?

Yes there is a bumper guard accessory that velcros onto the mat. Its rolled up plastic designed to protect the bumper from scratches when loading. I got mine with the plastic load liner i bought not used it as frankly i suspect it would scratch the bumper itself!

yes - there is a padded attachment from MB accessories. I got one and use it a lot to protect the paintwork. Works very well.

As an alternative to the optional loading mat, when I had the wagon clear-bra'd I had them include the entire rear bumper and vertically all the way up to the rubber weatherstriping at and inside of the rear cargo door jam area just to protect against scratches. And, FWIW, I also purchased Weathertech's cargo area floor liner which sits above the carpeted cargo mat, fits perfectly, easy in/out as desired.

My PPF installer recommended the same, so I agreed. I’m considering a few aftermarket protectors as well. Seems there are a few European companies producing them for wagons.

I might do a goofy Coco Mats liner of some kind. Does anyone here have a picture of what they are currently using for a cargo liner?

I use CoCo Mats in my Land Rover and my vintage 88 560SL 2-dr roadster and they're great but a but bulky I'd say in terms of the cargo liner. As I stated above, I' purchased the WeatherTech Cargo liner for my '19 E450 4S wagon and it is a superb product that truly fits perfectly, plus its easy to pull out and stow when not needed (or using rear seats) and looks quite nice in black which is the primary color of my interior and carpets.

The cargo liner does not come with a storage bag.
Here's a photo of it when I first installed, right out the the box it came rolled up in.
It did take a day or so a for the liner to relax and settle down when first installed (i.e. the curling at corners and sides) but once it did, it lays perfectly flat and seamlessly well throughout the cargo compartment including its edges. I'm sure there are other brands available as well but the Weathertech is working great and was reasonably priced.

Sorry to top an old thread, but for the weathertech cargo liner guys here...how are you dealing with it's slickness? I assume it's the same as their floor liners, hard plastic that doesn't really grip the cargo in any way.

Yes its a bit slippery, but its not smooth and has a cross hatched design as shown in picture in prior posts, and I've not had problems that would be much different if the liner was not installed. Heavy stuff is going to slide no matter what unless you use the cargo tie down net that comes with the wagon. For smaller items like groceries I did put felt under the pair of Collapsible Shopping Crates I purchased (Mercedes-Benz 6-6-47-0995) which helped prevent those moving around. The fit of the weathertech cargo liner is really great, and after nearly 2 years use, although the liner is scuffed as expected, the carpet liner underneath in the trunk is like new.

I have beige seats and interior, but the floor wells and trunk are both black, so the liner works well here was well. Its a great product.

Good. I have the designo beige/saddle interior and the black cargo mat looks worse than you could possible imagine. The floor mats need to get washed every 6 months. I would like to find the time and energy to order coco or sisal mats that would function better and have less contrast.
