No footrest in the car?

No footrest in the car?
I just noticed the footrest lacks plastic/rubber square thing for the driver footrest. It’s just bare carpet. I’m pretty sure my w212 had plastic thingy for the footrest. Did anyone else notice this?

My 2016 W212 does NOT have a plastic/rubber footrest. My 2001 W203 does NOT have a plastic/rubber footrest.

I'm not convinced Mercedes-Benz knows what a proper footrest is.

well damn. Now I have to search for a plastic footrest thingy. Mean the mean time my left foot will be dangling awkwardly.

I find the angle of the carpeted outside edge of the foot well perfect for use as a footrest. I do not recall MB ever having a plastic "thingy" in the foot well.

Only the AMG cars have a dead pedal.

I was referring to this handy footrest in my E300. The position is perfect. The angle is perfect. If anything it is a bit too close. But the entire W213 cockpit is a bit too short.
