Manticore

Hello all,

I have been a member and viewing the forums actively for a long time, but finally purchased my first MB.
I took the delivery beginning of January 2020. I custom ordered the car to get all the options I wanted.

Relatives have had for a long time Mercedes vehicles, but I have always liked a little more Audi vehicles. Styling and driving dynamics has been more "youth" like than Mercs.
Also my Wife has been driving a MB B200 Turbo (MY 2007) for the past 5 years. (Actually during last fall we also traded that car in for a new MB A180)

I traded in my -16 Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro (the 218hp version). I test drove also the new Audi A6, but didn't really like the front styling of the new Audi. Also despite the Audi interior looking really good, I wasn't really sure about the infotainment and climate controls of being operated just by touch.
After the test drive with the New Audi A6, I went to drive the E-Class and was really surprised how much more dynamic the driving feel was vs past E classes like 5 years ago when I last drove a E-class.
I also liked the exterior and interior styling really much.
For the past 3 cars I have had Audi's so the decision to change car make was little hard. After configuring the cars as I wanted and getting the quotes from local MB and Audi dealers, the choice was a no brainer. I got a really good deal on the MB and even with better options.
Then the choice was between the E220d 4Matic and the E300de, but after taking a look of the hybrid version and the huge hump in the trunk, just couldn't take the trigger on the Hybrid.
Also I really do like to have the comfort of 4matic here in the north where it does snow and have ice time to time.

The car is really good equipped. I wanted to have the non-amg exterior, because I liked it actually more than the AMG line bumpers.
Basically took every Technical equipment, except of HUD. Also for some reason, couldn't get the Acoustic&Comfort package because of the tinted rear glasses and towing hook.


Here are couple of pictures of the new car. Not the best pictures and the car was unfortunately dirty. I have now driven the car for a little over 1100 km and liking it a lot.

Very nice. I love mine too. In Australia we can only get 4 MATIC on the All Terrain. They don't offer 4MATIC on the saloon, and we don't get the regular T-Model (estate), only the All Terrain.

That's one thing i miss with this car. I wish it had 4MATIC.

I love your interior. The brown with the light brown wood is so 70's-80s classic mercedes. A lovely choice you have made with your custom order.
